About the Event

We have scheduled an extended day of talks and the opportunity to talk with other Carers and professionals about your worries, concerns, experiences, or just to help you plan and cope with future events.

You may attend each topic talk individually, or come along to SCC for the whole event where we'll be providing refreshments and a light lunch.  We'll have leaflets and information available and you'll have the opportunity to talk to other Carers and professionals informally between presentations and our Specialist Support Worker will also be available for 121 conversations.

Timings are as follows (subject to change):

  • 10.15am - sign in and settle
  • 10.30am - Clare from Poppy Funerals will be talking about funeral planning, options and practicalities
  • 11.15am - break
  • 11.30am - Caroline from SCC will be talking about end of life Carer support, wellbeing and bereavement
  • 12.15pm - break
  • 12.30pm - Simon from St Raphael's will be talking about end of life care and planning and the Wellbeing Centre
  • 1.15pm - lunch buffet open
  • 1.30pm - Ifat from Citizens Advice will be talking about Wills and Inheritance tax
  • 2.15pm - 3pm closing conversations

If you are attending specific talks, please arrive at least 5 minutes before the start time to help us run to schedule and avoid disturbance during the session.

Please have phones on vibrate if you need to have them on and leave the room if you need to answer a call.

Carers will be attending in person and online, so please be patient while we try to ensure everyone is able to participate.  We aim to have a breakout room for online attendees to chat in between talks.

This event is free but donation boxes will be available and you can also donate on our website if you would like to make a contribution to Sutton Carers Centre.
