Brain and Spine Foundation

Brain and Spine Foundation

There are over 600 known neurological conditions including strokes, head injuries, muscular dystrophy and motor neurone disease (MND). The Brain and Spine Foundation run a range of peer support groups for people affected by neurological conditions and their families and friends. The Neuro Carers group meets on the second Tuesday of every month from 10.30-11.30am online via Zoom.

CAMHS

CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) help Children and Young People who are experiencing mental health issues. Their services can be found in schools, local community clinics or at our main site at Spring University Hospital.

The CAMHS Crisis Line is for CYP or parents/carers concerned about a young person's mental health. The number is 020 3228 5980 Monday to Friday 5.00pm - 11.00pm and Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays 9am - 11pm The main mental health crisis line operates outsides of these hours.

Call 0800 1111 to discuss any issues issues causing distress or concern. Childline offers free support to anyone under 19 with any issue they’re going through. Young people can talk about anything, whether it’s something big or small, with trained counsellors. The
childline.org.uk/kids service is aimed at primary aged children.

Men in sheds

Men in sheds

Our Sutton Men in sheds group meets regularly for men to connect, converse and create. The activities are often similar to those of garden sheds, but for groups of men to enjoy together. They help reduce loneliness and isolation, but most importantly, they’re fun. Further details on their Facebook page @HillHouseStHelier or by emailing meninsheds@communityactionsutton.org.uk.
