Specialist dentists are trained to work with people who have one or more of the following:
• physical disability
• medically complex conditions
• learning disability
• severe anxiety/phobia
• severe mental health condition
A referral can be made for people with disabilities via a dentist, GP or other healthcare professional, such as a health visitor, school nurse or therapist.
