Recovery College - Wellbeing Skills for Carers

Often Carers and service users have different expectations around recovery and feel unsure on how to work together towards it. This course will help you understand the recovery model in practice and how it can also guide your own resilience.

What is Recovery? Thursday July 2nd 10:30-12:30
  • Understand the meaning of recovery in mental health

  • Identify aspects of recovery that are useful to you

  • Learn how you can back the recovery of the person you support


Responding to Extremes - Thursday July 9th 10:30-12:30
  • Develop a range of ideas for responding to extreme worry and fear, hallucinations and delusions, and low motivation and drive. 

  • Reflect how these may become your own triggers

  • Identify different ways to respond to triggers


Planning for Wellbeing - Thursday July 16th 10:30-12:30
  • Identify the benefits and characteristics of a helpful routine for recovery

  • Understand and identify early warning signs

  • Other key elements to self-manage in everyday life


Navigating Support Services -  Thursday July 23rd 10:30-12:30
  • Learn what you can expect from services

  • Learn the principles of confidentiality

  • Learn and share tips on how to best interact with services
