Revamped Wellbeing Team for the New Year

ree

Happy New Year! At this time of new beginnings, it feels fitting to say, "Hello" and introduce myself. I am Ruth, SCC's new Wellbeing Navigator. I am very excited to have joined Kathryn and the team, and to start supporting Carers with all things wellbeing.

What is wellbeing? We use the word wellbeing to talk about how we feel, how well we’re coping with life and what feels possible at the moment. Good mental wellbeing doesn't mean we’re always happy or unaffected by experiences. But poor mental wellbeing can make it more difficult to cope.

In simple terms, wellbeing can be described as being comfortable healthy and happy!

A big part of my role will be seeing Carers for 1-1 sessions to understand the issues affecting their wellbeing and ideas to help address these issues. This isn’t a counselling service but focuses more on practical actions that can help, like problem solving, setting goals, wellbeing tips and techniques, and discussing other helpful services.

We want to hear from you! Please complete this short survey to tell us:

  • what you are interested in when it comes to wellbeing

  • whether you would like 1-1 wellbeing support

Your feedback will inform a revamp of the wellbeing section of our newsletter and website.
