Carers Week is a great opportunity to get out of the office to talk to professionals and Carers. It's a vital calendar statement recognising the invaluable contribution Carers make every day, while ensuring they know where to access help and support.
This year’s theme encourages professionals - whether working directly or indirectly with Carers -to find out more about how they can support #BuildingCarerFriendlyCommunitie.
If you’d like to learn more or explore ways to refer Carers to SCC, please get in touch!
At St Helier
On Tuesday Vicky and Alison attended a Carers Awareness event at St Helier Hospital. They met with members of staff including Senior Consultants and spoke with Carers to share information about the support available to unpaid Carers and raise awareness of the challenges Carers can face.
At the Home Office, Croydon
On Wednesday, SCC staff attended a Carers Awareness Day at the Home Office in Croydon.
The event provided an excellent opportunity to raise awareness of the vital role unpaid Carers play in our communities and workplaces. Throughout the day, Vicky and Sharlene spoke with staff about the challenges that Carers face, what support is available, and the importance of recognising and valuing Carers' contributions.
Carers Week is a time to celebrate Carers, increase understanding of caring responsibilities, and ensure Carers can access the support they need. We were proud to share information about local services and connect with people who may be balancing work with caring responsibilities.
A big thank you to everyone who stopped by to learn more, share their experiences, and help make the day such a success.
Together, we're Building Carer Friendly Communities!
