Top tips for Overcoming Challenges

Ask for help – being a Carer can be challenging and we all need support; you don’t have to face challenges alone. Support is out there; you can share your challenges with friends or family and ask for professional help from organisations like Sutton Carers Centre who can provide practical information and advice and a listening ear if you just need to share what you are facing.
Self-compassion - if you notice your own critical voice creeping into your mind, telling you ‘you cannot do this’ or ‘you haven’t done enough’ think about what you would say to a friend and say this to yourself instead.
Break big tasks down – create bitesize tasks that you can fit into your day and plan to do them when you either have help or feel at your best in the day. Keep a track of your progress. A big tip for confidence is to celebrate your wins however small.

Get started - If you are struggling to get going with something try doing just 5 minutes and see how you feel at the end of that time.
Most of the time after 5 minutes we are happy with our progress and wish to continue.
