Panto time in Oz

Updated: Jan 5

Following on from our "Wicked" time at the theatre, we took a group of Young Carers to see the Wizard Of Oz Pantomime at Epsom Playhouse. Some would say, "Oh no they didn't", YCs shouted, "Oh yes we did!!!".

Sutton Young Carers were given a shout-out on stage and the whole audience sang Happy Birthday to some of our YCs, with SCC CEO Rachael MacLeod and volunteer Linda clapping and singing away.

There was lots of laughter, ice-cream, singing, and not to mention that we got soaked!!! When Dorothy said, "There's no place like home" one YC said, "This is too much fun, I don't want to go (home)!", but when the finale came we had no choice. With a brain, heart, and courage, we followed the yellow brick road all the way back to Sutton, our own Emerald City.

The outing wouldn't have been possible without the continued support from Nonsuch Rotary Club. A massive 'shout out' to Tony Liston for organising this generous donation of tickets,  travel, treats as well as volunteering his time to accompany the YCs to have such a wonderful and festive treat.
