Practical Course for New Carers

Becoming a Carer can be stressful and overwhelming. Practical advice and support at the beginning of a caring journeys can help you navigate the new responsibilities of being a Carer and support the wellbeing of the person you care for. 

Each week a health, social care, or charity and voluntary sector organisation supporting unpaid carers in Sutton will bring topics to help you when looking after someone. These topics include Understanding caring, Carers’ rights, and Carers’ offer Financial and legal matters Useful equipment, gadgets, and adaptations for the home (small changes, big impact) Manual handling Looking after yourself Looking ahead, emergency preparedness, and contingency planning Sessions will last 1.5 hours.
