At our Parent/Carer group this week we were talking about the tricky issue of bed-wetting and how to help children with extra needs to come out of nappies/pull-ups? With the summer holidays coming up, this might be a good time to face wet sheets and extra stress, but is this the right time for your child and for you?
The children's bowel and bladder charity, Eric, has helpful info at: Bedwetting – reasons and how to stop it - ERIC and Contact offers support, particularly for children with extra needs: Potty and toilet training | Contact.
You might also want to talk to a health visitor or school nurse. Talking to other parents of children with disabilities or extra needs can also be really reassuring as you are definitely not alone in worrying about this issue. Check the date for our next Parent/Carer Support Group on our Parent Carer page or check for all activities here.
