Fairer futures for Young Carers

We had an excellent Young Carers Action Day celebrating our Young Carers incredible achievements and resilience towards supporting their relatives. This years theme #FairerfuturesforYoungCarers, shaped a week of full of activities which shared the many voices of our Young Carers.

Monday we had a special Rap Therapy session in Chill & Learn. We wrote raps and poems expressing what we felt was important for others/professionals/friends to know about the caring that we do.

Tuesday we designed posters that reflected what we aspire to be in the future and what barriers we might face getting to our goals. Wednesday we partied the Sutton Young Carer way but swapping the pizza for chicken and coming up with our own theme 'Sharing is Caring'. We spent the rest of the event tuning into Create charity's YCAD showcase, where some of us presented what we did during the Create Drama Workshop. The workshop was themed around YCAD, It was brilliant to hear and see what other Carer Centres had been up to as well as have the opportunity to share what we did.
